How does a gas lighter works without using any batteries?

In general most of the appliances uses electricity or a form of power, for example, if we take a clothing iron then it uses the electricity by plugging it into a power socket, in T.V remote also battery or cells are used to provide it power but have you ever wonder that how could a kitchen based gas lighter be used without charging or fitting any batteries on it, you might have an assumption that there must be any button cell inside through which it gives an electric spark.

But it is not true if we travel back to the ancient age and look at those stone age fellows who are sparking the fire by banging stones then we would get the answer that generating fire without electricity is quite possible, but wait are we banging stones to fire the gas stone, no not at all, we are much smarter as we use piezoelectric crystals for the same, the term 'piezo' means pressure in general so basically, piezoelectric crystals are such a kind of crystals which gives us an electric current when pressure is applied on it as technically speaking there are two tiny sprigged stone-like mechanisms fitted inside the lighter when we push the button of lighter we could hear a cling sound which is of the strike that had happened inside lighter and by the virtue of which the negative and positive ions are separated which leads a potential difference and let the electric current generated through it.

An interesting fact is that if 500 kg of pressure force is applied to 1 cm square of piezoelectric crystal then 2500 volt electricity is generated and for our domestic purpose to lighten up a gas stone we just need a tiny little spark, so imagine how easy we can achieve it.

Lessons learned from a bicycle.

M y Bicycle tales 🚲 I vividly remember my first cycling experience on a Hero 'Cyclone' bike, a sky blue colored that belonged to my elder sister. As a child, riding that cycle felt like a privilege, but due to my height, it wasn't the perfect fit for me. My parents always reassured me that once I grew taller, my sister would lend it to me. I longed for the day when I could ride that cycle. Finally, in 7th grade, my patience paid off. My sister offered me the Cyclone bicycle. The feeling of joy I experienced that day is indescribable. For two months, I felt like a prince, seizing every opportunity to go outdoors with my bicycle. Whether it was fetching groceries, to buy milk, or helping my dad with bringing hardware accessories from nearby store, I was always ready for a ride, exploring the streets near my home. But one unfortunate day, tragedy struck. Returning home from my tuition classes, my  Cyclone bicycle was nowhere to be found. Panic set in, and I rushed to a nearby...
