India's largest water fall along with it's uniqueness.

 


India is a country of wonders and when it comes to a waterfall, then it definitely connects you to heaven, the largest and the longest waterfall of India, which is  'Noh-kalikai waterfall' which is located on the north-eastern portion of India near Cherrapunji in Meghalaya and 53 km far from Shillong.

The waterfall is heightened as 340 meters long, 23 meters wide, which is 1239 meters above sea level, Cherrapunji is a famous place for its high monsoons seasons and its denser forests as per the mythological facts the name of the waterfall - Noh kalikai is placed after a woman whose name was likai which we will read on next passage, the water collected below is greenish in colour. Noh-kalikai is not only the waterfall located here as there are various different waterfalls in these regions and apart from waterfalls, but there are also various tourist attraction spots like eco-park, dainthelen waterfall, krem caves and much more.

The entire incident which is told by the locals is very devastating to hear as the woman named 'likai' whom we have mentioned in the above context was living with her daughter and as she was working as a porter to sustain her living and as due to certain responsibilities of her daughter, she had to marry again but her husband who was a very wicked found jealousy and murdered her stepdaughter and as being afraid of hiding evidence of his cruelty, he made the meal from the fleshes of likai's daughter and ran away, now when likai returns home being tired of laborious work she ate that meal and at the end when she went through the place where she found the fingers of her daughter and she ran on forest screaming with the grief of the incident.
